Oversized & Tall Freight

Step Deck Dispatching

Step deck (drop deck) trailers have two deck levels: a short upper deck near the cab and a longer, lower main deck for the rest of the trailer. That lower deck height means taller freight — like machinery, tall equipment, or manufactured structures — can clear standard bridge and overpass heights without needing an oversize permit.

Lower deck height No CDL-oversize permit for most loads Machinery & equipment specialist
